FAQ
What does a Mental Health Nurse Coach do?
A mental health nurse coach leverages clinical nursing expertise and assessment skills to support clients facing mental health challenges. They help identify barriers contributing to symptoms that negatively impact clients' lives and work collaboratively to develop actionable steps for improvement. By providing education and tailored strategies, mental health nurse coaches empower clients to enhance their wellbeing, promote self-awareness, and achieve personal growth.
How do we differ from therapists?
Our mental health nurse coaching service differs from traditional therapy in that it focuses on providing support from a nursing perspective. While therapists are trained in specific therapeutic modalities, our approach emphasizes practical guidance and health education rather than formal therapy techniques.
Can I claim appointment costs using my private health benefits for individualized support?
Yes! Both Jessica and Karmen are registered psychiatric nurses, and receipts will be provided after payment for your records. Please ensure that your individual health plan covers the services offered by nurses to maximize your benefits. If you have any questions about coverage, feel free to reach out!
What age ranges do we support?
We provide support for individuals aged 7 and older, addressing a wide range of mental health needs across different developmental stages. Our approach is tailored to suit each age group, ensuring that everyone receives the appropriate care and guidance they need.
Do we travel to workplaces?
Yes, we offer in-person support in the Greater Edmonton area and are available for travel across Alberta. Please note that additional costs may apply for travel outside the Edmonton area. For further inquiries or to discuss specific arrangements, please contact us directly.
